Haley Meeks is known to most for her bubbly personality and her need for independence. After a serious car accident, she came to Madonna seeking guidance on how to return to her life roles. Time spent on several pieces of advanced rehabilitation technology and in Madonna’s therapy kitchen and transitional living apartment provided opportunities for Haley to flourish. After an infection caused an amputation and eye loss for the Rev. Robert Matya, it became clear that he needed medical rehabilitation. The director of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Newman Center arrived at Madonna weak and unable to walk. Not only did he receive daily physician visits to manage his complex medical condition, but he also underwent physical and occupational therapy and received care from our spiritual care team. On an icy night in December, highway construction inspector Bradley Miller suffered a catastrophic injury while attempting to aid the passengers of a vehicle that slid off road.
